Aquebogue, NY – Man Dies in Head-on Crash on Main St
Aquebogue, NY (July 21, 2024) – On Friday, one person was killed and another hurt following a two-vehicle collision in the area of Aquebogue. The deadly accident took place on Main Street. It was reported that 67-year-old Matthew Schramm was driving a 2002 Nissan while 65-year-old Anthony Croce of Brooklyn was driving a 2018 BMW.
The two vehicles collided head-on on the roadway. Both drivers suffered significant injuries in the impact. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Schramm was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps. where he was later pronounced dead. Croce was transferred by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
