New York Speeding-Related Crashes

Bronx, NY - Injuries in Crash at Waterbury & Westchester Ave

Speeding is one of the primary causes of traffic-related fatalities and injuries. Speed limit violations are common among New York drivers, which significantly raises the chance of an accident for a number of reasons. Among many others, the longer stopping distance and slower reaction time are two of the most important. In a recent year, speeding drivers were involved in 4,526 crashes in New York City, making up 4 percent of all reported collisions. Across the city in 2022, reckless drivers were responsible for 3,940 motor vehicle accidents.  Tragically, these incidents resulted in the loss of 12,151 lives nationwide that year, with nearly 29 percent of all roadway fatalities being directly linked to speeding. This sobering statistic equates to an average of more than 33 speed-related deaths occurring each day. Given the severity and prevalence of speeding-related accidents, it is imperative for individuals to prioritize their safety and legal rights by seeking guidance from a skilled attorney who specializes in handling such cases.
