Brentwood, NY – Pedestrian Dies in Crash at 5th Ave & Kirk Rd
Brentwood, NY (July 18, 2024) – A crash on Wednesday, July 17, ended in the death of a pedestrian in the Brentwood area. The fatal accident was reported at the corner of 5th Avenue and Kirk Road late that night around 10:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 54-year-old man was traveling on foot crossing the road when he was hit by a northbound 1998 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 28-year-old Kevin Hernandez of Bay Shore.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary medical aid. The injured pedestrian was transported by ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for the treatment of critical injuries. He was later pronounced dead. The driver was not injured in the crash. The Nissan was impounded for a safety check following the incident. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available.
