Brooklyn, NY - Driver Fatally Hit Entering Car on Wortman Ave

Brooklyn, NY (April 5, 2024) – On Friday, April 5, a driver was killed after being hit by a car in Brooklyn. The deadly crash was reported on Wortman Avenue early that morning around 6 a.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of a serious pedestrian crash. 

Local reports revealed that the 57-year-old man was hit by a passing vehicle while trying to get into his parked car on the roadway. The vehicle, described as possibly being a gray four-door sedan, continued traveling eastbound on the road without stopping to render aid. The injured party suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. The identity of the deceased party has not been provided at this time. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
