Deadly Motorcycle Accidents in New York
Even the most seasoned motorcyclists know that riding motorcycles is far from safe. Many motorists fail to stop for motorcyclists on the road, which can result in tragic and occasionally fatal crashes. An estimated 4,458 motorcycle-related ER visits are reported annually, and 1,558 people receive treatment for related injuries in New York hospitals, according to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDH). Every year, an estimated 141 riders are killed in crashes in the state. These kinds of accidents are much more likely to inflict catastrophic injuries and financial losses because riders are so exposed on the road.
