Distracted Driving Accidents in New York
It is the duty of all drivers to pay attention to the road at all times. Unfortunately, what should be a simple task is becoming almost impossible due to the rising use of smartphones and other mobile devices in the United States. New York has a particularly bad issue with distracted driving. As a matter of fact, the state has the ninth worst rate of driver distraction in the United States. Between 2017 and 2021, 563 out of 4,785 road deaths in the state were attributed to distracted driving or an estimated 12 percent of all traffic fatalities. In the event of a catastrophic auto accident, drivers who neglect to pay attention to the road should be held accountable for their actions. This is often only possible with the help of a trained lawyer.
