Melville, NY - Two Hurt in Rollover on Long Island Expy

Melville, NY (May 20, 2024) – On Sunday, May 19, two people were hurt after a rollover crash in the Melville area. The accident took place on Long Island Expressway between exits 49 and 50 late that evening around 9 p.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties.

Local reports indicated that a sport utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on the roadway when it went off-road. It hit a sign before rolling. A man and woman traveling inside the SUV were hurt and transported to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present. Tow trucks were needed to clear the resulting debris. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress, and more updates will be provided as it continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
