Hit-&-Run Accidents in New York
In recent years, there has been a notable nationwide increase in the number of hit-and-run accidents. Around 5 percent of all traffic fatalities in the nation are caused by drivers who leave the scene of an accident, with pedestrians making up the majority of victims. A cyclist or pedestrian engaged in such an accident is already vulnerable, and the victim may be unable to get the treatment they need when the at-fault party flees. Hit-and-run crashes can have long-lasting negative effects on the victims’ physical, mental, and financial well-being. When faced with such upsetting situations, getting legal advice from an experienced lawyer can help allay worries and clarify the legal options that are open to you, which can ultimately help you get well and pursue justice for your victims.
