Patchogue, NY - Motorcyclist Dies in Hit-&-Run at Rider Ave & Main St

Patchogue, NY (June 11, 2024) – On Monday, June 10, a motorcyclist was killed after a hit-and-run accident in the Patchogue area. The deadly accident took place at the intersection of Rider Avenue and Main Street late that night, around 10:45 p.m. Local reports revealed that the victim was traveling northbound on a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle when he was hit by a westbound car.

The vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan, fled the scene without rendering aid and continued south on Rider Avenue. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The rider, later identified as 22-year-old Christopher Hlavaty of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No additional information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
