West Babylon, NY - Injuries After Driver Crashes into Home on Great East Neck Rd

West Babylon, NY (July 29, 2024) – Three people were injured after a driver crashed into a home in the West Babylon area on Sunday, July 28. The accident took place on Great East Neck Road early that morning, around 12:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that 27-year-old Cristian Banega-Salmendares was driving a Dodge SUV when he lost control and left the roadway. 

The car struck a low concrete wall before flipping over and hitting a nearby house. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Banega-Salmendares and the married couple living in the home were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for the treatment of sustained injuries. The severity of the resulting injuries has not yet been determined. No further information on the crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
