From 1973 to 1978, as an associate trial attorney with Halper, Passick, Prince and Weinstein, primarily an insurance defense firm with a small but growing plaintiff’s personal injury practice, Martin honed his skill as a trial attorney involving serious medical injury claims on behalf of individual plaintiffs as well as defending a significant number of cases representing defendants in personal injury matters. His experience litigating both as a plaintiff and defense attorney provided him with a unique perspective in the preparation and trial of claims for personal injury
In 1978 Martin joined Henry Isaacson and subsequently established the present firm. Since its creation, Martin assumed the role of managing partner, focusing on the preparation and trial of personal injury matters including automobile accidents, claims for wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, labor law, civil rights violations, premises and municipal liability.
Over the years, Martin has represented thousands of victims of negligence and medical malpractice, succeeding in obtaining millions of dollars in compensation for his clients, some of which were multi million dollar verdicts and settlements. He appeared on television as an expert in the field of personal injury law and is often consulted by attorneys on tort law and practice. He continues to be a mentor to young attorneys on personal injury practice and was chosen by his peers as a ‘Super Lawyer”, rated to be in the top five percent of attorneys in his field of practice.
Martin is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and is involved in local and national organizations dealing with youth and education, for which he was the recipient of several honors and awards in recognition of his service.
