Bay Shore, NY (June 16, 2024) – On Saturday, June 15, a motorcyclist was hurt after a collision in the Bay Shore area. The incident was reported on 5th Avenue near Spur Drive early that morning, around 11:30 a.m. It was reported that a motorcyclist was hit by a 2006 Chrysler minivan at the scene.
Local reports indicated that the driver of the Chrysler was exiting a parking lot to travel north on 5th Avenue when it hit a 2021 Suzuki motorcycle. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The injured rider, 32-year-old Anthony Dees of Central Islip, was transported to South Shore University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the minivan was not hurt in the crash. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
