Brentwood, NY - Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-&-Run on Wick Rd

Brentwood, NY (July 30, 2024) – On Monday, July 29, a motorcyclist was killed after a hit-and-run accident in the Brentwood area. The deadly crash was reported on Wick Road late that night, around 7:20 p.m. Local reports revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound when a southbound 2008 Ford Explorer made a left turn in front of the rider. 

The two vehicles collided, and the driver of the Ford fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike in the impact, and the vehicle caught fire. The rider, 31-year-old Andres Eloy Khammach La Cruz of Brentwood, was transported by ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. Three Hispanic men reportedly exited the Ford and fled the scene on foot. No additional information on the fatal crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
