Bronx, NY – Multiple Injuries Reported in Bronx MTA Bus Crash

Bronx, NY (August 5, 2024) – An MTA bus crash in the Tremont neighborhood of the Bronx on Monday,  August 5, resulted in injuries to at least 13 people, including three children, according to fire officials. The accident took place around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of East 181st Street and Jerome Avenue, where the bus collided with a subway pillar.

The injuries sustained were mostly minor, but eleven individuals were taken to local hospitals for further evaluation, while two adults and three children chose to decline medical attention at the scene. The MTA is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the bus operator has been temporarily relieved of duty pending a comprehensive review of the incident.
