Brooklyn, NY – E-Bike Rider Killed in Crash at 53rd St & 4th Ave
Brooklyn, NY (May 24, 2024) – A rider on an electronic bicycle was killed after a two-vehicle crash in the Brooklyn area on Wednesday, May 22. Local reports revealed that the deadly crash occurred at the corner of 53rd Street and 4th Avenue early that morning, around 9:10 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 49-year-old man was riding an e-bike southbound in the Sunland park area when he was hit by the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the Chevy was traveling in the opposite direction 4th Avenue when they attempted to make a left turn onto 53rd Street. The truck hit the rider, and emergency responders were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. The injured cyclist suffered serious injuries to his head and body. He was transported by ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
