Deer Park, NY – Several Killed in DUI Crash at Hawaii Nail & Spa
Deer Park, NY (June 29, 2024) – Multiple people were killed and injured after an alleged drunk driver crashed into a nail salon in the Deer Park area on Friday, June 28. The deadly accident took place at the Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Boulevard that afternoon, around 4:30 p.m. It was reported that 64-year-old Steven Schwally of Dix Hills was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse when he drove through the parking lot off Commack Road at a high rate of speed.
The Chevy crashed into the storefront. Four people inside the salon were killed in the crash. Nine others were injured in the collision. Schwally was also injured in the collision and hospitalized, along with the other victims. He is currently facing charges of driving while intoxicated and others connected to the incident. No further updates on the accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
