Dutchess County, NY (August 8, 2024) – A tragic accident involving a bicycle and a truck took place this afternoon on Vassar Road near Malmros Terrace in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County. The collision, which is under thorough investigation by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department (TPPD), sadly claimed the life of the bicyclist involved.
According to initial findings, the bicyclist, who was heading northbound, veered into the path of a southbound Dodge Ram truck, resulting in the fatal crash. Emergency responders quickly transported the injured rider to a local hospital, but despite their efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries.
