Bronx, NY - Two Officers Hurt in Collision at Gun Hill Rd & Knapp St

Bronx, NY (April 28, 2024) – Early on Saturday, April 27, two officers were injured after a car accident in the Bronx area. The crash was reported at the corner of Gun Hill Road and Knapp Street near Pelham Gardens early that morning around 7:55 a.m. It was later revealed that the officers were responding to reports of gunfire at the time of the impact.

It was then that the officers collided with two other vehicles. The two officers were injured and transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment. A 24-year-old man refused medical attention at the scene, and a 39-year-old man was treated by responding paramedics for a hand injury. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
