New York Deadly Pedestrian Accidents
The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) reports that a total of 7,354 pedestrian-vehicle collisions resulted in fatalities and serious injuries in a recent year. There were 739 pedestrian deaths reported that year and a combined 6,615 crashes caused 6,784 serious injuries. Compared to those traveling in motor vehicles, pedestrians are still ten times more likely to die in a collision. Without a doubt, pedestrians are more vulnerable in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of suffering severe or even fatal injuries. To pursue a wrongful death claim if a loved one dies in a pedestrian accident, you should speak with an experienced attorney.
