Eastport, NY (March 19, 2024) – A deputy was injured after a two-vehicle rollover in the Eastport area on Monday, March 18. The accident was reported on County Road 51 near County Road 111 at around 7:32 p.m. The deputy was driving a Suffolk County patrol vehicle when they collided with an SUV. 

The impact caused the patrol car to overturn onto its roof. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render the necessary aid. The injured officer was treated at the scene. No other injuries have been reported at this time. The area was temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. No further updates on the accident have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
