Deadly Hit-&-Run Crashes in New York
Hit-and-run crashes have significantly increased nationwide in recent years. The majority of deadly hit-and-run events involve pedestrians, and around 5 percent of all traffic fatalities in the country are caused by drivers who flee the scene of an accident. When a pedestrian or cyclist is involved in an accident, they are already at a severe disadvantage. A driver who flees the scene without offering assistance may prevent the victim from getting the critical care they require to make a full recovery. This helps to understand why these kinds of accidents are, frequently, so serious. Feelings of fear and loneliness are common following a hit-and-run. To ensure a thorough recovery, a lawyer can help you understand your legal options and answer any questions that you may have during this difficult time.
