Islip, NY – Local Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Carleton Ave
Islip, NY (April 7, 2024) – On Saturday, April 6, a local woman was killed after a pedestrian accident in the Islip area. The crash was reported on Carleton Avenue late that night around 9 p.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched after being notified of a serious pedestrian crash.
Local reports revealed that 51-year-old Stacy Worlds of Islip was traveling on foot when she was hit by an oncoming 2008 Hyundai Sonata traveling southbound on Carleton. Worlds was provided aid at the scene before being transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Hyundai, a 59-year-old Bay Shore man, was not injured in the accident. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
