Queens, NY - Woman Killed on Scooter at Blossom Ave & College Point Blvd

Queens, NY (March 8, 2024) – A woman was killed after being fatally hit by a car while riding an electric scooter in the Queens area on Wednesday, March 6. The deadly accident was reported at the corner of Blossom Avenue and College Point Boulevard that morning at around 10 a.m. Local reports revealed that the victim was traveling on a scooter when she was hit from behind by the vehicle. 

The driver was attempting to make a left turn at the time of the incident. The rider, later identified as 63-year-old Mei Ying Lan, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. 

The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
