Medford, NY – One Killed in Truck Crash at Express Dr & Horseblock Rd

Medford, NY (June 8, 2024) – On Saturday, June 8, one person was killed and another was injured after a two-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer in the Medford area. The crash took place at the intersection of Express Drive and Horseblock Road early that morning, around 2 a.m. Local reports indicated that the tractor-trailer was traveling northwest on Horseblock when it tried to make a left turn onto Express. 

As the truck was making the turn, it was hit by an oncoming 2008 BMW. The driver of the BMW fled on foot. A passenger in the BMW suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending paramedics. Another passenger was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the BMW was described as a Hispanic male with a dark-colored shirt and tan shorts. Both vehicles were impounded at the scene. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
