New York Distracted Driving Crashes
Every driver has the duty to keep their eyes on the road at all times. Unfortunately, with the increased usage of smartphones and other mobile devices in the United States, this is becoming less common on American roads. New York has a serious problem with distracted driving. Statistics show that the state has the ninth-worst rate of distracted driving in the country. Distracted driving was linked to 563 out of 4,785 road deaths in the state between 2017 and 2021, making up an estimated 13 percent of all traffic fatalities. Drivers who fail to pay attention to the road should be held responsible for their conduct in the event of a serious auto accident.
