Staten Island, NY – Two Hospitalized in Crash on Staten Island Expy
Staten Island, NY (April 6, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a car crash in the Staten Island area on Friday, April 5. The collision occurred on Staten Island Expressway headed toward Brooklyn that afternoon around 11:52 a.m. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near Hylan Boulevard en route to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
All eastbound lanes were temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. The area was later reopened at around 1 p.m. Two people involved in the crash were reportedly hospitalized. They were transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze by ambulance. No further updates on the collision are currently available.
