Deadly Tractor-Trailer Crashes in New York

Plainview, NY - Motorcyclist Dies in Crash with Semi on Long Island ExpyIn a collision, an enormous truck can be extremely devastating, especially for those in much smaller passenger automobiles. There is a clear reason that a significant number of fatal crashes involving semi-trucks and large commercial vehicles occur on American roadways each year. There are more than 500,000 heavy truck crashes that are reported annually nationwide, with thousands of fatalities and many more serious injuries. Sadly, trucking accidents are responsible for a high number of serious crashes in New York. When fully loaded, these massive vehicles can weigh tens of thousands of pounds, and when a crash occurs at highway speeds, those in smaller cars are at serious risk. Consequently, in the event of a collision at highway speeds, the occupants of smaller vehicles are exposed to grave risks due to the sheer force and impact involved.
