Queens, NY – Motorcyclist Fatally Hit by Tractor-trailer on Queens Expy
Queens, NY (June 3, 2024) – On Saturday, June 1, a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a commercial truck in the Queens area. The deadly accident took place on Queens Expressway early that morning, around 8:32 a.m. It was reported that a 34-year-old man was operating an Isuzu tractor-trailer traveling westbound when he suddenly moved into the left lane.
The trucker ignored road markings and cut across the road to the exit lane. A 24-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle in the exit lane. The rider slammed into the side of the truck and ejected from the bike before hitting the pavement. The motorcyclist suffered severe trauma to his torso and thighs in the accident. The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead. The deceased victim was later identified as Gregory Benning of the Ozone Park neighborhood in Queens. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
