Bay Shore, NY – Motorcyclist Dies in Collision at 5th Ave & Spur Dr
Bay Shore, NY (April 16, 2024) – On Sunday, April 14, a motorcyclist was killed after a crash in the Bay Shore area. The deadly accident was reported at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Spur Drive N. early that morning around 12:15 a.m. Local sources indicated that a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2016 Volkswagen sedan collided at the scene.
It was later revealed that the driver of the Volkswagen, later identified as 32-year-old Eric Ferrand-Diaz of Bay Shore, was heading northbound when he attempted to make a left turn onto Spur Drive. This is when the vehicle was hit from behind by the oncoming motorcycle. The injured rider was transported to South Shore University Hospital by ambulance in critical condition. They were later pronounced dead. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available.
