North Merrick, NY - Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Southern State Pkwy

North Merrick, NY (March 16, 2024) – On Friday, March 15, a motorcyclist was killed following a collision in North Merrick. The deadly accident occurred on Southern State Parkway early that morning at around 2:30 a.m. A motorcycle was traveling on the roadway when it collided with another vehicle. 

The rider, 25-year-old Bryan Rubio of Bay Shore, was heading westbound at the time of the crash. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passengers of the other vehicle were treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. All lanes on the roadway were temporarily closed as emergency crews were present. At this time, the circumstances leading to the accident have not yet been provided. Local law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into the cause of the deadly crash, and more updates will be released as it continues.
